Welcome to the first issue of TIGHTWAD.com's
Informational E-Zine. The goal of this
E-Zine is to give you time sensitive information on MONEY, SAVINGS, & DEALS in a quick
reading and quick transmit format. We will also keep you updated and informed on the
progress of our web site at tightwad.com
First off, let me complement you on your patience.
Our site has been developing at an admittedly slow pace because of our limited resources,
which include time and money. As editor, I have charted an ambitious course, and I
hope to discover where the stars will take us as we navigate the unknown, thrifty, frugal,
free and profitable universe of destinations. I admit, the trade winds have not
given us their full breath of speed that we would like, but we are just beginning.

SAVE TIME WITH OUR INFOTENSIVE SUPERLINKS
TIGHTWAD.com has opened a link page which has two
sections. The first section has links to the BEST frugal sites, freebie sites and
coupon sites. The second section has information on major tightwad related sites
that you will need to have at your fingertips. For lack of a better descriptor, our
link area is called: INFOTENSIVE SUPERLINKS
You have to wait a while for the second part to download, but the wait is worth it.
By going to our superlink site you can immediately jump to any number of tightwad
sites. It is a great resource and time saver. We will be rating and adding
more sites to our list in the future.
PSSSST...WE'VE GOT TIPS.....TIGHTWAD TIPS
To see new hints and neat frugal savings hints, check out our Tightwad Tips Section. At the moment we
hope to update the site quarterly, which is not very speedy in the internet world, but
it's more realistic for us at the moment. As our readership interest develops we
will be publishing more frequently. Incidentally, since E-zine readers have been so
good to join our list, we have a confidential section of new T-wad tips: Click here
to access: NEW TIPS or type http://www.tightwad.com/freetips/html
These are only for loyal E-zine readers to access. We will have more sections open in the
future.
LEAN CLEAN MACHINE... NEEDS WRITERS
After many changes, we have set a design format for our site that seems to be working on
most monitors, systems, and browsers. We will be working to obtain writers to assist
us and if you are reliable and interested in writing opportunities, please let us
know. We do not accept unsolicited stories, but will work with experienced tightwads
on story ideas. We do accept unsolicited tightwad tips for anyone interested in
donating an original tightwad tip idea. For donated tip ideas, we will give you
recognition on our site for your submission, besides getting our thanks for joining the
fight against unbridled consumerism.
WE GET SPONSORS!! AND WE JOIN WITH THE BEST!!!
Tightwad.com is free, so please consider supporting our recent sponsors, who have joined
with us to support this site. A number of sponsors and associates have joined with
us, and you will be seeing their advertising banners in the near future. These
associates include Amazon.com, NextCard Visa, and FreeShop. In fact, many people
have asked where they can buy Tightwad books by Amy Dacyczyn and other frugal
authors. If you are interested, please checkout the reviews and information at the Tightwad Spot on

GET PAID TO SURF THE WEB!!!
Ok this is really neat. It's not a gimmick. You really get paid to surf the
web. Your privacy is assured and you merely download a view bar that sits on your
browser when you want to make money. Turn it off when you don't . You won't
get swamped with junk mail and you get several levels of income depending on
refurrals. In less then 120 days, All Advantage posted over TWO MILLION new members
for their "viewbar" technology. They essentially deliver advertising
directly to you, and then pay you to view it! You have control over when you want to
use it and make money. Go ahead and ignore the ads like you do now anyway. Nothing
to buy and no hidden gimmicks, that's why it's so popular. Click here to

Here's another great site. If you've lost or
damaged your pair of sunglasses, you may have noticed how expensive they are to
replace. I've got a great solution! Go down to your local mall, check out the
pair you want to buy at Sunglass Hut or another retailer, write down the brand, pair name
and codes and go home to the internet. Shades is a place to get sunglasses for
cheap! One popular pair of Rayban that I wear were about HALF OFF! What I
did was to buy two pairs with my savings. I put one in my car's glove compartment,
since I always forget to bring my glasses. The other pair I try to carry with me If I
remember (I always forget). Shades is one of the fastest growing site due to price
breaks and my guess is that they'll eventually put the mall sunglass dealers out of
business. Check it out! Click here: Shades
Site is a place to get sunglasses at a fraction of the price! (sponsor)
I specifically picked these sponsors for the good deals
they offer. Please take a look. Now for freebies:

FIGHT GAS PRICES WITH A FREE 15 SECOND PHONE CALL
Gasoline is at the highest price in California and especially in the Bay Area. Gas
producers complain that strict California air quality standards cause the prices to be
higher. Legislators suspect greed. In an effort to reduce these costs, the
California Energy Commission is accepting complaints and may consider allowing California
to import cheaper fuel from other states if there is enough of a public response.
They have established a toll free number to register your complaint. It takes about
15 seconds. You give your name, county and zip code. That's all. The number is
1-800-232-4685. If California can import inexpensive fuel, it may make a dent in the
local producers arguments for raising prices. P.S. experts say most people are
wasting their money by purchasing premium and high octane fuel, if you don't believe me
see this: Save $2.00 per
fill-up.
YOU MAY BE GETTING SOAKED WHEN YOU BUY SHAMPOO!
NBC's Dateline tackled an interesting T-wad subject: The cost of shampoo! The
results are that you're probably paying too much! A Good Housekeeping Institute study
looks to see if you're paying for what you get. See the Dateline NBC article at:
Buying the right shampoo -
(http://www.msnbc.com/news/301212.asp) One T-wad browser tells me she puts food
coloring in her shampoo to tell how much is left. A great idea with clear
shampoos. I buy quality inexpensive brand in a large volume and repackage it into a
small shampoo container that I recycled from some time ago. The small dispenser
helps me to use less.
CONSUMER ALERT STORIES:
Dateline also has a number of articles on consumer stories. How do you tell if eggs
are fresh? Did you know that hamburger could kill you? Can you read the
expiration codes on food products? See the answers here:

A MAGNETIC ATTRACTION
I was recently attracted to something Dan Bartmann was selling on an e-bay internet
auction... MAGNETS. For a few bucks he will sell you a few Rare Earth Neodymium
magnets, which are extremely strong. I have found a number of tightwad applications
for them and you might also, even if it is just to tack something on the fridge. I just
mention this because I really love these things, and he's got an interesting salvage
business called Forcefield. Check out how strong these tiny magnets are: Click here to see the power of these
magnets. He also has a list of uses for these things: Click here for uses If your
system won't forward, he is at http://www.wondermagnet.com
THANKS again for your patience and support. We are
working to improve our page and should have some new articles up soon.
